Frequently asked questions

Everything about our services — postpartum nursing, massage therapy, counselling, video sessions, registration, and where to find help. New answers are added as our services grow.

Our Services

What services does Totus Life Services offer?+

We offer three registered clinical services, delivered in your home, in a care facility, or virtually: 1) Mobile Postpartum RN — private post-partum care from a Registered Nurse (newborn care, feeding support, maternal recovery). 2) Mobile RMT — therapeutic massage at home or in care facilities (pain relief, mobility). 3) Mobile RSW Counseling — professional counselling by Registered Social Workers for aging adults, families, grief, and life transitions. All consultations are free: 15–30 minutes with an RN or RMT, 30 minutes with an RSW. Call 1-844-HI-TOTUS (1-844-448-6887) or email info@totuslife.org.

Do you offer postpartum or labour & delivery nursing?+

Yes — our Mobile Postpartum RN service brings a specialized Registered Nurse to you for private post-partum care: newborn care and feeding support, maternal recovery and healing guidance, and infant care education. Home visits cover the Lower Mainland, and virtual follow-up visits are available. For labour and delivery itself, you'll give birth at a hospital or birth centre under your care team — after you're home, we step in to support your recovery and newborn care. Call 1-844-HI-TOTUS to book a free consultation.

Do you offer counselling?+

Yes — Mobile RSW Counseling by Registered Social Workers (registration verifiable at BCCSW). It's professional, confidential counselling for aging adults, families, caregivers, and anyone navigating grief, transition, or loneliness. Sessions are warm, practical, and judgment-free — offered in person at your home OR by secure video conference through TelePortUs, our virtual care platform. Book a free 30-minute consultation: call 1-844-HI-TOTUS (1-844-448-6887) or email info@totuslife.org.

Do you offer massage therapy?+

Yes — Mobile RMT brings a Registered Massage Therapist to your home or care facility: therapeutic and relaxation massage, pain and mobility assessment, and treatment adapted for seniors and limited mobility. Registration is verifiable at CCHPBC. Book a free 15 or 30-minute consultation: 1-844-HI-TOTUS (1-844-448-6887) or info@totuslife.org.

How It Works

How do counselling sessions work — in person or video?+

Both! You choose: • In person — your RSW comes to your home (we serve the Lower Mainland and surrounding areas). • Video — secure video conference through TelePortUs (TelePortUs.totuslife.org), our PHIPA-compliant virtual care platform. No apps or downloads — you just click a link we send you, from any phone, tablet, or computer. Either way it's the same warm, confidential counselling. Start with a free 30-minute consultation: 1-844-HI-TOTUS (1-844-448-6887) or info@totuslife.org.

What is TelePortUs?+

TelePortUs is Totus Life Services' own secure virtual care platform (TelePortUs.totuslife.org). It's PHIPA-compliant, end-to-end encrypted, and hosted entirely in Canada. Patients join video sessions from any browser with one click — no app, no account, no downloads. Your RSW, RN, or care team can meet you over TelePortUs for counselling, follow-ups, and virtual support.

Registration & Colleges

Are your clinicians registered? How do I verify?+

Every Totus Life Services clinician is registered and verifiable online: • Registered Nurses (RN) — verify at BCCNM: registry.bccnm.ca • Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) — verify at CCHPBC: cchpbc.ca/public/practitioner-search • Registered Social Workers (RSW) — verify at BCCSW: bccsw.alinityapp.com/Client/PublicDirectory We encourage clients to verify any clinician's registration before care begins.

What is BCCNM?+

BCCNM (BC College of Nurses and Midwives) is B.C.'s regulator for five professions: Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Registered Midwives (RM), Registered Nurses (RN), and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN). It protects the public by ensuring nurses and midwives are competent and ethical. Anyone can search a nurse or midwife's registration at registry.bccnm.ca and file a complaint. Note: BC health regulators are transitioning to new legislation effective April 1, 2026.

What is BCCSW?+

BCCSW (BC College of Social Workers) regulates Registered Social Workers (RSW) in British Columbia — setting registration classes (Full, Clinical, Temporary, Provisional), a Code of Ethics, Scope of Practice, and continuing professional development requirements. The public can verify any social worker in the BCCSW public directory (bccsw.alinityapp.com/Client/PublicDirectory), submit complaints, and view discipline decisions.

Transparency & Audit

How do I verify your blockchain audit?+

Anyone can verify our audit independently — no account needed: 1. Go to totuslife.org/transparency — you'll see the public audit ledger with a 64-character fingerprint for each day. 2. Each fingerprint is embedded in the Bitcoin blockchain via OpenTimestamps (the same open protocol used to timestamp academic papers). 3. To check it yourself: install the free open-source tool (pip install opentimestamps) and run: ots verify audit-anchors/<date>.ots — it confirms the fingerprint was published to Bitcoin on that date. Every action on TelePortUs is logged in a tamper-proof chain; alter one record and every record after it breaks. The daily Bitcoin anchor makes retroactive cover-ups impossible. The fingerprints contain only hashes — no patient information ever leaves our systems.

Where can I see your transparency policy?+

Our full transparency commitment lives at totuslife.org/transparency. It explains the 4-step process (every action logged → chained like a ledger → anchored to Bitcoin daily → verifiable by anyone), shows the public ledger, gives you the exact steps to verify it yourself, and includes our policy disclaimer: the audit records THAT actions happened (who accessed what, when), never the content of patient information — names and records stay encrypted at all times.
